4/26/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked and has the proper Eagle Head military acceptance proof. There is an “RIA” marking on the right side of the frame, indicating this gun was sent to the Rock Island Arsenal and reworked, likely for WW2. It has a proper WW1-era “H P” barrel. The gun has retained roughly 75-80% of its finish. There is significant finish loss on both grip straps. Noticeable thinning and tiny dots of oxidation along the slide. Comes with nice wood grips and a period-correct two-tone magazine. The rifling is a bit worn with minor pitting throughout.
