12/19/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked and has a very faint “Eagle Head S16” military acceptance proof on the left side of the frame. The entire gun has been refinished and parkerized, possibly for re-issue during WW2. It comes with a Springfield barrel that has also been parkerized. The gun itself has retained about 96% of its finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle, high edges of the slide, and a couple of small spots of wear on the grip straps. There is some dark splotchy discoloration here and there, mostly on the left side of the slide. Light brown patina on the grip straps. Fitted with a set of nice WW2-era reddish plastic grips and comes with a parkerized magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is frosting and pin-pricking throughout.
