10/11/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked and has the proper “Eagle Head S6” military inspection marking on the left side of the frame. It has a replaced WW2-era Springfield barrel. The gun has lost virtually all of its original finish with noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Comes with fairly worn period-correct grips and a parkerized magazine. The bore is very nice – strong rifling with some areas of light frosting in the grooves.
