6/28/22 – This is a nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. The gun is mostly matching except for a few of the small parts. It has the proper Imperial military acceptance proofs. This gun eventually ended up with the VoPo or East German police force, as evidence by its dark “dipped” finish, East German style numbering on some of the parts, post-war VoPo plastic grips, and post-war matching-numbered magazine. There is some spotty wear and discoloration on the side plate, minor wear on the side rails, some light scratchy wear on the front strap, and some discoloration at the back of both sides of the frame. Some spotty oxidation on the straps. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with tiny pits throughout.
