1/19/22 – This is a minty example of a Spandau Gewehr 98. It was initially issued to the Imperial German military in 1915. It has the proper Imperial proofs throughout. It was then reworked and issued to the Nazi military, as evidenced by the Nazi military wafffen proofs on the right side of the barrel. The barrel is also marked with a “G Date” Mauser proof, “S/42G”, indicating the barrel was replaced. Comes with a cleaning rod. The gun is entirely matching (including the butt plate), except for the bolt. The stock is un-numbered. The gun has retained most of its bluing. There is very minor wear on some of the high edges, a few small handling marks on the barrel, and some minor scratchy wear on the butt plate. Some very light freckling on the floor plate and more noticeable freckling on the butt plate. The stock is minty with only tiny bruises here and there. Mint bore.
