10/20/22 – This is a nice example of a Birmingham Small Arms SHT LE No. 1 Mk III Rifle, issued to the British military during WW1. The gun is matching with British proofs throughout. The stock has a matching number, but there is a faint number above it – it’s likely it was re-numbered to match. Two Import marks on the right side of the receiver. On the right side of the butt stock, the disc is missing, and there appears to be an old rack tag with a matching serial number. The gun is in nice condition overall, but there is wear around the high edges in general and some visible brown patina under the finish. There appears to be worn and chipped green paint on the magazine. The stock has noticeable bruising and scratching throughout. Very nice bore with good rifling. Comes with a canvas sling.
