5/10/23 – This is an original 1915 dated Artillery Luger holster with an Imperial proofed wood stock, complete with original leather cup and attachment straps. There’s also an included reproduction leather shoulder strap, as shown. The holster is in excellent condition with a fairly scarce maker marking that’s unusually located on the front lid, just below the horizontal fastening strap. The leather is soft and pliable but holds shape nicely and shows some normal signs of use and aging. There’s a minor indent near the toe of the front leather from the securing strap on the stock, which is a good indicator that this grouping has been married for some time. The interior leather has a depot ink stamp on the lid. The stitching is all tight and original with no notable stitching flaws. The leather attachments on the stock are excellent with nice attachment screws and washers. The stitching is all original as well. The wood is in great condition with a serial numbered attachment end “6653”. Nice bluing throughout, and no cracks in the wood. There’s one small gash on the back of the stock, below the Imperial proof stamp. A very nice Artillery Luger grouping, with an added repro shoulder strap as a bonus!
