10/27/22 – This is a very nice example of an Erfurt Luger manufactured in 1913. It was initially issued to the Imperial German military, as evidenced by the Imperial proofs on the right side of the slide. It was later reworked and issued to the German police, as evidenced by the added police sear safety, “1920” government property marking on the receiver, “S. P. 0. 1. 30.” police unit marking on the front strap, and matching police arsenal-numbered magazine. The gun is all matching (except for the front toggle link) and has the proper Erfurt markings throughout. It has the proper early features such as no stock lug on the frame, and it originally lacked a hold-open (one was added later). It has retained about 97% of its arsenal re-finished bluing with minor wear on the side plate and around the muzzle. Comes with very nice matching-numbered grips. The bore has decent rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
