5/28/24 – This is an original, fairly rare M1905 Springfield Armory bayonet for the M1903 rifle. The bayonet features an uncut, 16 inch blade that’s in great condition (near-excellent considering its age). There’s some light patina and surface discoloration near the tip and along the edges of the blood groove. The blade edge is clean with light signs of use and aging wear. Minor surface scratches throughout as well, but this is typical. Maker stamped and dated at the base of the blade, as shown. The hand guard has natural patina and surface age but no rust or pitting. The pommel is excellent, as are the original wood grip panels. The scabbard is in great condition with a canvas cover and leather toe. The leather toe has some surface wear but is still intact. The mouth of the scabbard is numbered, as shown.
