6/7/22 – This is one of the approximately 5,000 Model 1906 DWM Lugers made for the Royal Portuguese Army. The Royal Portuguese Crest of Manuel II is present on top of the chamber, with the DWM scroll marking on the toggle. A triangle in a circle is marked on the rear of frame, underside of the barrel, and left side of the slide. All parts are matching. This contract was for 5,000 Lugers in 30 caliber, and without the lug stock. The finish rates roughly 75%. Most of the finish loss is on the grip straps, where there is also some light brown patina. There are also areas of wear on the side plate, side rails, around the chamber, and around the muzzle. An area of discoloration on the left side of the slide. Minty mismatched grips numbered “85”. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with tiny pitting throughout. It comes as a rig with a proper Portuguese holster, cleaning rod/oiler, un-marked tool, spare firing pin, and a blank bottom wood magazine.
