3/28/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver manufactured in 1857. The gun is all matching, including the barrel wedge, and has the iconic Colt naval engagement scene on the cylinder – a little worn but still visible. The gun has lost virtually all of its original finish and there is some splotchy discoloration on both sides of the frame and on the brass parts. There are tiny dings in the metal throughout, most noticeable along the barrel. Comes with nice wood grips – tiny bruises here and there. The bore is actually shiny with strong rifling, but there is an area of light surface rust about halfway down. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth.
