4/23/24 – This is a buce example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. Only about 100,000 were produced that year, compared to over 750,000 in 1943. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. Correct “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The gun has retained about 90-92% of its original finish with just hints of high edge wear, some very minor thinning on the front strap, some very light pin-pricking on the slide, and some spots of light brown patina here and there. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with a post-war magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
