9/24/24 – This is a great example of an original Winchester B4 scope with case. The scope is in great condition given it’s age, the body of the scope maintains almost all of it’s original finish. The only finish loss on the body seems to be from the movement of the scope mounts, which has caused some finish loss and thinning. The Winchester B4 scope was manufactured for use on various types of rifles, but was often paired to single-shot rifles of it’s time. The optics on this scope are incredibly clear still, and have just the slightest hint of haze. The crosshair is intact and still very visible through the scope. This scope does come with it’s original mounts and both are still functioning. The body of this scope is stamped ” MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED FEBRUARY 9. 1909 – B4″. The scope comes with an original period correct leather carrying case. The leather on this case remains supple and pliable. However, on the one side of the case the stitching has come undone, and the one support strap towards the toe of the case has also come undone. However, due to the design of the this case it can still be closed and secured with the leather cap.
