12/5/18 – This is an M1 carbine made during WW2, that was later reworked by Springfield Arsenal for use in the Korean war. The receiver is Quality Hardware with many parts marked SG for Saginaw Gear. The stock was sanded, probably when it was rebuilt at Springfield Armory, and is marked RSG in the sling well. Most of the parts are from WW2, but the barrel is SA marked for Springfield Armory and dated 11-51. The handguard is not marked but looks to be matching condition to the stock. The Carbine has a Korean War era adjustable sight and bayonet lug. It comes with a proper WW2 magazine and a Korean War era cotton sling. Excellent bore is 9.5/10 overall (near mint). No import marks. While Korean war Carbines are typically re-worked WW2 carbines, this one is a little unique and more desirable than most.
