9/5/24 – This is a great example of a 1944 CUL K98 bayonet that is matching. The blade on this bayonet maintains almost all of its original finish. The areas with finish loss are consistent with standard use, primarily toward the tip. There are a few areas of very minor pinpricking in the fuller of the blade. The blade is not sharpened and maintains it’s original edge. The blade is stamped “44 CUL” near the ricasso and is serial numbered on the other side with “6375”. The grips on the bayonet are marked “B.M.” on both sides. The scabbard for this bayonet is also in great condition. The scabbard maintains most of its original finish, but does have some areas of finish loss and patina. The scabbard is also stamped “44 CUL” and is matching to the blade being number stamped “6375”. Both the scabbard and the bayonet are waffen stamped, with the scabbard being marked on the ball point, and the bayonet on the pommel and button.
