11/19/24 – This is a very good example of an M42 Luftwaffe helmet with a single exterior shell decal. The Luftwaffe decal is in very good condition with roughly 85-90% of the logo intact. The swastika on the decal has been scratched off in order to “De-Nazify” the helmet. The shell has some typical signs of aging such as surface scuffs and mild discoloration mixed with patina and original paint. The interior shell is maker stamped “NS 62”, as well as serial numbered “D217”. The leather liner is typical of later wartime production and is very rigid leather with cracking and a few breaks and missing portions of leather.
