7/25/24 – This is a single decal M40 helmet manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerk Thale and issued to the Luftwaffe during WWII. Very nice Luftwaffe Eagle decal on the left side. The interior shell is “ET” maker stamped along with the helmet size “62”. Lot numbered “201” on the back visor of the interior. The shell is in great overall condition, with surface aging throughout, but no dents or major issues. The helmet’s paint has visible scuffs and scratches here and there, and some small areas of light surface rust and mild patina. Interior liner is very good overall condition, though there is typical wear and age related perimeter leather damage. Chin strap is present at both ends, but the center section has torn off cleanly and is missing. The decal is in about 85% condition, with some typical aging and small areas of chipped finish.
