6/29/18 – This is an original K98 dress bayonet from WW2. Made by E.u.F. Horster and in excellent condition. The blade has a few small spots of discoloration. The leather stopper is in tact. The handle is excellent with no cracks or chips. The scabbard is excellent with no dents and minimal paint loss. Leather frog is also excellent with normal scuffing on some edges and no maker marks or stamps. There is cracking at the top of the leather “bend point”. There’s a cloth portepee included: dark green cloth with a red accent. Looks original and correct, but I’m not sure the designation for the portepee. Blade is 9.75 inches and overall length is 15.75 in the scabbard.
