4/12/24 – This is a 1945 Springfield M1 Garand in excellent condition. The serial number on the receiver dates it to February of 1945. The barrel is Springfield and dated April of 1945. The left side of the stock has a Springfield inspection stamp with a cross-canon cartouche. There is an “N156” marking on the right side of the stock, which we assume to be a rack number. Included with the gun is a parts list with all of the markings (see photos). There is virtually no actual finish loss, but we believe the receiver was refinished. The wood is near-mint with just a few tiny handling marks. Comes with a green canvas sling. The rifling in the bore is a little worn with pin-pricking throughout.
