9/5/18 – This is an original Springfield 1903 Rifle made in 1929. The rifle was then later sent to Remington where the stock was “FJA” stamped (1940s inspector proof) and “RA” stamped with a military cartouche. The stock is in excellent original condition with dark brown wood. The metal is all original finish and in excellent condition as well. The barrel is 1929 date stamped, but the muzzle is star gauge proof stamped, meaning that this particular barrel was exceptionally accurate. This star gauge stamp is exceedingly rare. The bore is in great shape, but there are some traces of use and minor corrosion. Overall the rifling is in tact and an 8.5 out of 10. The rifle is mechanically sound and fully functional. Guaranteed original.
