3/12/18 – This is an all original “bring back” Japanese TYPE 97 rifle, made at the Nagoya arsenal during WWII. It is in excellent original condition with over 95% of the original blueing remaining. It is all matching and comes with a complete 2.5 power sniper scope, including the scope can and straps, in excellent condition as well. The optics are clear and scope retains nearly all of its finish. The can is all original with some Japanese characters visible on the body. Complete Type 97 sniper rifles are uncommon, especially with matching bolts. This one has a very good bore and a nice stock with original cartouches. The wood had not been sanded or varnished. The bluing is bright and without any pitting. The mum is ground, as is the case for a vast majority of Japanese rifles. A great collectible example of the Japanese WWII sniper rifle.
