1/3/18 – This is an original late WW2 production rare variation P.38 holster. The holster is extremely rare and in great condition compared to similar holsters of this variation. By 1944, the German army was making the cheaper to produce soft shell holsters…and they were black in color. This holster is brown and hardshell style. Although the leather is very pliable, it’s stronger leather than most hardshells made during this time. This holster was manufactured for the German Luftwaffe (according to Whittington’s book on P.38s – Volume 3 notes this variation). Both the “P38” designation and the manufacturer code (ndk) are stamped within ovals. The maker code marking “ndk” stood for “JNDUSTRIEWERKE AKBA GMBH”, located in Petrikau, Poland. The holster is waffenamt with the Eagle/WaA77 acceptance stamp. This waffen stamp is more commonly found with Radoms – so a very cool collector holster, and extremely hard to find. There are no stitching issues, but the back leather has the intitials “E.D.” scratched into the leather just under the belt loops. Guaranteed original.
