7/14/17 – This is a super cool consignment rifle. These are super hard to find and even harder with original parts. This one is as original as allowed by law. The MG 42 (Maschinengewehr 42, or “machine gun 42”) is a 7.92×57mm Mauser general purpose machine gun designed in Nazi Germany and used extensively by the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS during the second half of World War II. It was intended to replace the earlier MG 34, which was more expensive and took much longer to produce, but in the event, both weapons were produced until the end of the war. Serial: 6522L Caliber: 8mm Mauser. Bipod Mounted and tripod mountable. Barrel Length: 21 Inches Overall Length: 48 inches Operating mechanism: closed bolt, hammer fired, semi automatic 922r compliant: Yes Original Maker: CRA (Maget) 1944, non matching parts kit. Capacity: 50 Safety: Yes Additional: US made ATF 4 plasma cut receiver reweld-Tool steel Auto bolt blocking bolt ~ US made bolt carrier ~ US new made barrel, original barrel for display purposes only ~ US made Fire control group and grip stick(BRP, Ar-15 gen 1 style) ~ New US made rails and rivets ~ Original WW2 German bolt head, US made bolt body (carrier) (BRP bolt extension) ~ All original parts as allowed by law. ~ Original WW2 German bluing remains intact on approx 80 percent of receiver and shroud ~ Original WW2 Grips, top cover, charging handle, recuperator and assoc parts, barrel, shroud, front end barrel assembly, sights front and rear, flash suppressor, bipod, 50 round belt, starter tab, trunnion, all small parts, ejection port cover, bolt head, drum magazine. The stock we suspect is not original German due to profile, but we are unsure. ~ Test fired 250 rounds off of bipod and tripod ~ Barrel to bolt head spaced ~ Will not accept original grip stick ~ Will not accept original bolt ~ Quick change barrel system functions as originally designed ~ Recuperator has been rebuilt and functions correctly ~ Displays positive extraction, ejection and firing pin hits.
