11/22/24 – This is a rare military 1911, made at Springfield Armory. Issued to the US military during WWI. One of only ~30k produced at Springfield for WW1. The left side of the frame is “United States Property” marked. It also has flaming bomb military proofs on the left side of the slide and frame. It has a WW2-era Colt barrel, and only two of the small parts are “S” marked. The entire gun has been refinished with a dark, matte finish. Very little finish loss, just one small spot of wear on the back strap and some pin-pricking under the finish on the front strap. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with an “A” marked two-tone magazine. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pin-pricking throughout.
