11/21/24 – This is an excellent example of the Chilean Mauser model 1935. These rifles were made specifically for the Carabineros which are a military branch of the government that acted like national police (Gendarmerie). The rifle was made for mounted horseback riding in mind and the sling mounts are modified as such. All matching with a Mauser banner logo on the receiver. The receiver reads “Chile Orden Y Patria Modelo 1935”. The left side of the stock is stamped with the Chilean seal and dated 1935 (very crisp and clear). The gun’s original high polish bluing rates about 93% with minor high edge wear, some thinning along the barrel, and some wear on the floor plate. Bright fire-bluing on some of the small parts. The wood stock shows just minor bruising and scratching. Comes with a leather sling. Mint bore.
