10/9/24 – This is a great example of a 1940 dated P.38 holster from early WW2. These early P.38 holsters are very hard to find, as the P.38 was not fully adopted until around 1943. The holster is in great shape with leather completely in tact and all original stitching. The leather does have some minor abrasion and pressure marks. Additionally the back of the leather holster has “1st Sgt” scratched into it, possibly from the G.I. who captured this holster. The holster is maker stamped “Genschow & Co. A.G. 1940 Berlin” and waffen proofed “WaA286”, on the back of the holster. Leather is soft and pliable and the closure strap is still fully functional.
