10/4/24 – This is a very nice example of a scarce WB-marked Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. The slide is numbered and matching. It is “United States Property” marked and has “WB” inspector initials. “Colt 45 Auto” barrel with a large “G” under the lug. The entire gun has been refinished with a dark, blackish parkerized finish. Has a really nice look to it. It shows virtually no signs of wear. Fitted with period-correct reddish-brown plastic grips and comes with an “L” marked magazine. The bore has decent rifling but there is tiny pitting in the grooves.
