10/3/24 – This is a great example of a scarce variation 1941 hard-shell P.38 holster. The back of the holster is “cgu” maker stamped and “41” date stamped. Both of these stamps are still strong and easily legible. CGU only made holsters in 1941 and 1942, making this a scarce variation. There is also a waffen “WaA920” military proof, this stamp however is faint, but still noticeable. The leather on this holster remains soft and pliable. The closure strap is intact and fully functional. The lid on this holster has only the slightest wrinkling from standard use. There are no major cracks or gauges in the leather. There are a few nicks and small abrasions from use and age, but overall the leather is in great condition. The stitching is all in tact and original, and the interior leather is fairly clean.
