9/17/24 – This is a top-condition example of a RZM SA Dagger, complete with an original scabbard and leather hanger. The blade is in beautiful condition with a distinct “Alles fur Deutschland” inscription on one side, and a later wartime RZM maker code on the reverse. The M7/27 corresponds to PUMA. Crisp, distinct cross-graining throughout and natural scabbard rub wear visible. The lower crossguard is a shiny chrome-plated finish, while the upper crossguard has more of a dull finish without the very small spots of lifting, which is indicative of an aluminum crossguard. Both are non-magnetic and correct for a later example such as this, with each fitting flush and snug on the handle. The wood handle is excellent and clean with nice decals. There’s a few small bruises in the wood, but no cracks or chips. Brown painted scabbard is excellent with minimal paint loss and no dents. Nice plated steel fittings are shiny and clean. To top this fine example off, the hanger is complete with minty leather and a nicely marked Assmann hanger clip. The attached secondary D-ring and leather belt loop is also maker stamped, “RZM L2/154/41”. An exceptional example with distinct wartime production features.
