8/23/24 – This is a scarce Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1942. The slide is numbered and matching, and it has a proper “G” marked Colt barrel. The left side of the frame is “WB” inspector proofed. It has retained almost all of its original finish, but there are locations “SCOTLAND – ENGLAND – ALGERIA – TUNISIA – MOROCCO” lightly scratched onto the right side of the slide. This was most likely done by a GI who’s listing all of the places he’d been. Some minor wear on the main spring housing. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips and comes with a poast-war magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout.
