8/22/24 – This is an original WW1 production, rare variation trench knife. The knife is maker marked by American Cutlery. The American Cutlery knives are more scarce than the other WW1 trench knives, and they have a different style knuckle guard. Instead of having pyramid shapes comes out, this blade has protrusions on both edges of the knuckle guard. This metal area is blued, and shows signs the normal finish loss associated with use. Most of the original bluing is intact, but it does have notable pitting towards the grips and in the center of the blade. The interior of the guard is maker stamped and dated 1917. This item does not come with a scabbard.
