8/23/24 – This is a very nice example of a fairly rare Astra Model 900 from 1932. The Astra 900 was a pistol developed to take advantage of a large Chinese demand for semiauto pistols with shoulder stocks, following the massive sales of the Mauser C96 in that country. There was a loophole in the international treaty accords that stocked pistols were not considered military arms, so civil war in China had a huge market for arms that this variant was able to meet. There were only ~21,000 of these pistols produced. Large ring hammer and 1000 meter tangent sight. This one is matching and has a quality restored finish that is a very close approximation of the original. Mint matching-numbered wood grips. Excellent, shiny bore. The lanyard ring is missing, and it appears a white bead was added to the front strap.
