6/11/24 – This is a nice example of a BYF 42 Mauser K98 that was originally issued to the Nazi military in 1942. After the war, it ended up with the Royal Norwegian Navy, as evidenced by the “K.N.M. Nr. 9581” unit marking milled onto the receiver. No evidence that the caliber was converted. No import marks. The gun’s finish rates roughly 85%. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there is noticeable brown patina here and there. Nice wood stock with only minor scratches and marks. Very nice bore with great rifling.
