5/31/24 – This is a rare Spanish Llama Model 1 that was imported by Geco into Germany in 1943. Whittington’s book on German pistol estimates only about 1,000 were sold in Germany! What makes this pistol particularly interesting is the “Geco” trademark stamped on the right side of the frame. This indicates that the pistol was marketed in Germany by Gustav Genschow & Co., Hamburg. Like most commercial pistols available in Germany during the war, this pistol would have been sold to a member of the German armed forces or one of the few “approved” German civilians or Nazi Party members. The GC proof on the right side indicates it was originally made for the Spanish Civil Guard, or ‘Guardia Civil’. It has retained virtually all of its original finish, but there are areas of tiny pitting on both sides of the slide. Fitted with minty wood grips and comes with one proper magazine. Mint bore.
