5/17/24 – The receiver on this gun is marked “Underwood”, which is crossed out and labeled “AW” under it. It was also given a Winchester serial number. This is a rare variation: a receiver initially manufactured by Underwood and later acquired by Winchester under their late war “spare parts” program. Assembled with parts by Winchester. A complete list of parts and markings is included in the photos. We couldn’t find much information on which parts are appropriate for this variation. But as you can see, most of the parts are Winchester. The gun has a late serial number but has some earlier features, such as Type 1 barrel band and flip-up rear sight. Clear Winchester inspection stamp and cross-canon cartouche on the right side of the butt stock. Very little finish loss on the metal, just very minor high edge wear. Excellent wood. Mint bore. Comes with a sling, magazine, and oiler.
