5/14/24 – This is an original Springfield M1904 Hospital Corps Bolo Knife. The bolo comes with an original leather sheath that still has the original metal frog and leather tab attached. The leather tab is Rock Island Arsenal maker stamped and 1909 dated with a “H.E.K.” inspector stamp. The backside of the sheath is similarly RIA maker stamped with a 1909 date and E.J. inspector stamp. Excellent overall condition. The bolo knife blade has dark oxidation throughout and areas of natural patina. The edge has a few small nicks and dings from use and age, and there’s light signs of sharpening. Well marked with a SA maker, 1909 date, and ordnance stamp. The wood handle has a few small cracks near the pommel. Great overall condition.
