05/14/2024 – For sale is a Springfield Model 1903A1 rifle made in 1938 and chambered in .30-06. In the 1930s, the C stock, with the pistol grip and improving marksmanship, was added onto 1903 rifles and designated the 1903A1. This started happening around 1.2 million serial numbers. This rifle is in excellent condition with a nice dark bluing on the metal. The stock has been lightly sanded but is in great condition but there is a repair on the right side next to the receiver. The left side has a depot stamp but it is not legible. The bore is excellent and very bright with great rifling. The barrel is stamped “SA 9-38” and has a Remington front sight hood. The rifle comes with an era correct dark leather sling.
