4/30/24 – This is an original 1939 dated K98 bayonet by E.u.F. Horster. The bayonet comes with a matching numbered scabbard. Interestingly, the hand guard is stamped, “N 5718 P”, which is most likely a Kriegsmarine unit marking of some sort, but there’s no way to say for sure the significance of this marking. The bayonet blade is in excellent condition with light surface wear and minimal finish loss near the tip. No signs of sharpening and excellent, clean condition throughout. The hand guard and pommel show light patina and natural age throughout. The scabbard is in great condition with no dents or dings, but some dark patina and finish loss show typical age throughout.
