04/09/2024 – For sale is a Lend-Lease M1 Garand made by Springfield Arsenal in 1941. The US would send arms to support the English war effort after much of their supplies were lost withdrawing from Dunkirk. Many M1 Garands were sent alongside many other small arms. This M1 Garand serial number falls around late September. The barrel is marked SA 10-41. Overall finish on the gun is clean with the original finish on the metal worn smooth. The stock is clean but there is a crack repaired on the left side of the stock by the stock stamps. There is also some damage on the upper handguard. The bore is excellent and very bright. The muzzle erosion rates at around 1 and the throat erosion is less than 1. The side of the barrel is stamped with British proofs. The internal parts have lot numbers matching to documented M1 Garand made in November of 1941 in the book “The M1 Garand Serial Numbers & Data Sheets” by Scott A Duff.
