3/22/24 – This is a very rare and desirable Colt Cavalry Single Action Army revolver from 1890. It is all matching and original with proper 7.5in barrel. It is Rinaldo A. Carr (R.A.C.) inspected on multiple parts. The finish on the revolver is original and in very good condition for an original Cavalry model. We would rate it at 50-60%, with nice bluing on the barrel and a good amount of the original case hardening still visibly on the receiver and hammer. The grips appear original to the gun and have a clear cartouche on each panel. The lower left side of the grip is stamped with the date “1890” above the Ordnance final inspection mark which consists of the script initials “SEB” in a rectangle with rounded ends. The lower right side of the grip is stamped with the Ordnance sub-inspection mark which consists of the script initials “RAC” in a rectangle with rounded ends. Timing and lockup appear to be sound. Matching numbers on frame, trigger guard, cylinder, and backstrap. RAC inspector markings on grip, barrel, and frame. Martially marked receiver. This is a great Indian Wars era gun, accepted by David F. Clark during the last quarter of 1882, and was in service for the last decade of serious Indian War service.
