3/8/24 – This is a very rarely encountered Stevens Savage Model 620 trench shotgun, made as a part of US military procurement during WWII. Unlike its M520 counterpart, this was a hammerless model, very much like Winchester M12. It was produced in trench configuration in limited numbers and is very difficult for a collector to acquire. This particular gun is a near textbook example, with all the correct military markings, original finish and all original parts including the bayonet lug and heat shield, but the buttplate is replaced. Canfield reports that fewer than 10,000 military trench examples were ordered during WW2. This particular example is in very good condition with minor thinning on all the high edges. Receiver and barrel both have the flaming bomb proofs, and the receiver is ‘U.S.’ marked. Stock is unmarked, and has a couple of surface cracks along the wrist. Excellent bore.
