3/5/24 – This is an original, rare variation M1 Garand Bayonet from WW2. The bayonet is maker marked by Wilde Tool at the base of the blade on one side. There’s also a flaming bomb ordnance stamp, 1943 date, and US stamp in this location. The blade is uncut, 16 inches and in good overall condition with honest surface wear throughout. This is dark discoloration and surface oxidation, but there’s no rust or pitting on the blade. The edge shows light signs of use and sharpening. Natural surface patina is present throughout the hand guard and pommel. The grips are correct, early variation with the iconic black rectangle in the middle (a Wilde Tool exclusive feature). The right grip panel has a small chip near the spine, where the grip meets the hand guard. Comes with an original scabbard that has been repainted. This example shows honest use and likely saw action during WW2. Priced according to condition. These are highly sought after, early US WW2 production bayonets.
