2/27/24 – This is a beautiful example of a Colt 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is “United States Property” marked, has the correct “GHD” inspector initials, and has the proper cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the tang. Matching-numbered slide. It also has a correct Colt barrel with a large “S” under the lug. The gun has retained nearly all of its original finish – just a hint of muzzle wear. Excellent period-correct reddish bakelite grips. Comes with a proper “S” marked magazine. Mint bore.
