2/13/24 – This is a very rare Mauser P.38 in excellent condition, one of only ~2,850 ever produced. It’s a dual-tone pistol with ‘ac 44’ marked slide but Mauser proofed frame, indicating slide was produced at FN factory and assembly completed there. The pistol has a very nice profile view but some high edge wear on the slide and muzzle. Finish on front strap is thin/dull but this is commonly seen on phosphate P.38s. Phosphate finish on slide, frame and some small parts. Strong bore with only minor hints of frost. De-cocker is functional. Excellent, black grips aside from a couple scuffs on the left panel. Magazine is ‘jvd’ marked.
