2/3/24 – This is a beautiful Nazi-issued K98 rifle grouping with bayonet, scabbard, sling, sight hood and cleaning rod all included. The rifle is 1940 dated and a ‘237’ factory code is on the receiver, indicating it was made at the Berlin-Lubecker factory. It has matching numbers all throughout, including the stock, handguard, buttplate, rear sight, bolt assembly, trigger assembly, bands, etc. The finish shows some patina and oxidation on the barrel and trigger group, and some finish wear on trigger guard, muzzle and bands. Bore has strong rifling with very light pin-pricking throughout. The stock has several visible dings and scratches but no major cracks. It has several waffenamts and a Heer Army inspection mark. The sling is original and marked “L&F” on the clasp. The bayonet is also from 1940, and the serial on the blade matches the serial on the scabbard. Also comes with the original leather frog. Overall, an excellent grouping.
