2/3/24 – This is a nice example of a “bcd 4” Gustloff Werke K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching with the proper military acceptance proofs throughout. Proper “Eagle H” army proof on the right side of the butt stock. While this is a nice all-matching example, the stock has been duffle-cut (visible around the rear barrel band). The finish rates about 90%. There is not much actual finish loss, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. No major damage to the wood, just the typical signs of use and wear. Mint bore. Comes with a period-correct leather sling.
