1/29/24 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911A1 manufactured in 1944. It has the proper “United States Property” marking and the proper US military cross-canon cartouche. This one, however, has British proofs throughout, indicating it was part of the WW2 British Lend-Lease Program. Correct Colt barrel. The main spring housing has been replaced. It has retained about 94% of its parkerized finish. There are some areas of light pin-pricking and small dots of discoloration on the slide and some thinning on the grip straps. Fitted with period-correct grips and comes with a proper magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling.
