1/25/24 – This is a nice example of a Springfield 1870 Rolling Block Rifle, chambered in .50-70 Centerfire. “US” property marked on the butt plate with a military cartouche on the left side of the stock. Overall, the gun is in nice condition overall. It appears to have had a nickeled finish with obvious flaking in the finish and spotty patina throughout. The wood furniture shows the typical signs of wear and use with no major damage. The bore has decent rifling, but there is surface oxidation throughout.
