1/18/24 – This is a excellent condition 1939 dated K98 bayonet with a matching numbered scabbard and leather frog. The blade is very clean with little to no surface wear and no signs of sharpening. Maker stamped “Elite-Diamant” on one side, and serial numbered 8313h on the other. The spine of the blade is dated “39”. Elite Diamant started producing bayonets in 1937. There is no surface patina but some mild finish loss on the hand guard and pommel. The scabbard has minor patina and thinning throughout mostly under the frog as seen in the photos. The scabbard serial number matches the blade, with a maker and date stamp on the other side. No dents and fits nicely. The leather frog is marked “LLG Thuringen 1940”, and in excellent condition. Both pommel and scabbard are inspector marked “SE/218”. Overall a great near minty example.
