1/12/24 – This is a scarce AC 45 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1945. What makes this one scarce is the capital “A” suffix on the frame and locking block. Only about 5,000 guns feature this oddity. It is believed that, for a short period of time in 1945, the lower case “a” die was broken or unavailable, so the Walther factory was forced to use the capital “A”. This one is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 359” military acceptance proofs throughout. The finish rates about 90% with general high edge wear and thinning on the front strap. There is also finish loss and some spotty rust around the front sight. Fitted with period-correct reddish bakelite grips and comes with a scarce late-war “U” marked magazine. The bore has great rifling with some very minor frosting in the grooves. De-cocker is not functional.
